Travis Kelce wants Jason Kelce to join him on the field at Super Bowl LIX.
āOf course I wish Jason was out there. Being at the mountaintop with your brother is something special that Iāll never forget. Obviously, being so close to him retiring, I wish he would have played another year,ā Kelce, 35, told reporters at a press conference on Monday, February 3. āBut heās very content where he is in life right now, and Iām happy as hell for him. He gets to be around his family and his baby girls a little bit more.ā
Travis added: āIāll go out there and try and represent the family as best I can.ā
Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs will play the Philadelphia Eagles ā Jasonās former team ā in New Orleansā Caesars Superdome on Sunday, February 9. In 2023, the tight end faced off against his Jason, 37, in Super Bowl LVII, which ended with the Chiefs defeating the Eagles, 38 to 35. Jason retired from the NFL last year.Ā
As of last week, the elder Kelce brother was undecided about which teamās merch to wear at the big game.
āWe need to get you a mom jacket [or] a jersey,ā Travis told Jason on the Wednesday, January 29, episode of their āNew Heightsā podcast, referring to their mother Donna Kelceās split Eagles/Chiefs clothing pieces. āWe got to get a cut-and-sew action here where we can get you cheering for both teams like momās done, year in [and] year out.ā
While Jason appreciated the idea, he clashed with it on principle.Ā
āI canāt wear red,ā he stated. āI canāt wear it. I canāt bring myself to it.ā
Instead, Jason was considering an alternative to the Chiefsā signature color.Ā
āIām gonna wear my āNew Heightsā Big Yeti shirt,ā he said on the podcast, adding that heād don the yellow rather than the red version of the shirt. Travis, for his part, supported his siblingās sartorial choice.Ā
Jason made sure to clarify that heāll be rooting for the Eagles and the Chiefs come Sunday.
āObviously, youāre my brother. Iāll always root for my brother. Thatās the reality of it. All right,ā he said, adding, āI would be lying if I said I donāt want the Eagles to win. You know what I mean? I want them to, but I also want Travis Kelce to win. So, thatās a long-winded way of saying I just want to see a good football game, and whoever wins, Iām going to be happy for that guy.ā
