Tara Reid Stands by Drugged Claims Despite Police Finding No Evidence

Tara Reid reiterated her claims that she was allegedly drugged at a Chicago hotel despite police investigators finding no video evidence that the actressâ drink was tampered with.
In late November, Reid came forward with allegations that, after meeting a âvery successful influencer and YouTuber,â her unfinished drink at the hotel bar was drugged when she went outside to have a cigarette. Reid said she was later hospitalized for eight hours with no memory of what happened after consuming the drink.
âThe last thing I remember was drinking that drink and seeing a couple sitting next to us,â the actress said. âThe next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital around 8 hours or more later not knowing where I was or anything that happened. I completely blacked out with no recollection of anything.â
The Rosemont Police Department confirmed that they opened an investigation into the incident, the findings of which were announced earlier this week. âWhile video surveillance showed Tara Reid at the hotel bar, at no time did video show anyone tampering with or adding something to her drink,â police said.
While the investigation continues without video evidence, Reid reasserted her claims in a statement to People following the police report. âBottom line is no one ends up in the hospital incapacitated for over 8 hours after a drink,â the actress said. âI believe I was drugged. Something happened to me.â
Reid also said that waking up in the hospital with no memory of how she got there was the âscariest feeling I have ever felt,â and that the âhorrifyingâ incident is âseverely affectingâ her âmental health.â Â âI cannot sleep over this itâs a very scary feeling not knowing what happened to me,â Reid told People.
Reidâs initial account claimed that, while she was outside smoking, a napkin was placed over her unattended drink, which she found suspicious. However, police said the napkin was placed there by a bartender. Â âWe can confirm that a bartender covered her drink when she left the bar which is standard practice for bartenders to do,â police said.
The investigation continues pending chemical results from Reidâs hospitalization. âAt this time there is no criminal act that has been committed and there is no one we are currently investigating,â police added. âWhile we do not have any evidence that a drink was tampered with, it is a good reminder to never leave a drink unattended.âÂ
