Patrick Mahomes Raises Eyebrows After Putting Ketchup on His Turkey

Patrick Mahomesâ Turkey Day eating habits have the Internet divided this Thanksgiving.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, 30, teamed up with Adidas football on Wednesday, November 26, to remind people what matters most on the fall holiday.
âThanksgiving is a time to give thanks,â he explained in an Instagram video. âReturn home, see family and meet new friends. Thanksgiving is a time to eat.â
As the Super Bowl champion enjoyed all the staples like mashed potatoes and vegetables, he couldnât help but douse a turkey leg with ketchup.
âFrom Patrick Mahomes, Happy Thanksgiving,â the text read as the video concluded.
Soon after the clip was posted, followers couldnât help but sound off on Mahomesâ condiment of choice for his turkey meal.
âBro ketchup on the turkey?đ come on man,â one fan wrote in the comments section. Another user added, âAye he gotta chill on the ketchup đ.â
One Kansas City Chiefs fan, however, didnât care what the quarterback ate for Thanksgiving. Instead, the focus should be on how he plays on the football field.

âI donât know about the ketchup Pat, but I know we got to win!â the user shared. âLetâs go Chiefs!!! đ.â
On Thursday, November 27, the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Texas. The football game will also feature a halftime performance from Post Malone and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders as part of the Salvation Armyâs Red Kettle Kickoff.
âHonored to be part of the @dallascowboys @salvationarmyus red kettle kickoff halftime show,â Malone, 30, wrote via Instagram on November 16 while wearing Dallas Cowboys gear. âSee yâall on Thanksgiving đť.â
This isnât the first time Mahomes has made headlines for his love of ketchup.
According to ESPN, the NFL star spent most of his life putting ketchup on everything. In fact, he got bottles of it for his birthday growing up.
According to the publication, Mahomes hesitated to ask for ketchup with his steak during a 2018 restaurant visit. (Itâs unclear if ketchup is available at Mahomes and Travis Kelceâs 1587 Prime steakhouse.)
âJust ask for it,â Patrickâs mom, Randi Mahomes, said at the time. âI know you want it.â
In a separate chat with reporters, Patrick was asked about his condiment preferences at a news conference.
âI donât think itâs that weird, but I put it on my macaroni and cheese,â he shared with reporters. âPeople seem to think thatâs a weird thing, some people think thatâs disgusting, but itâs good to me.â
Food preferences aside, both Patrick and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, are taking time to express gratitude for the life they have built together.
Before game time, Brittany, 30, shared a series of autumn-inspired photos snapped alongside her husband and their three kids Sterling, 4, Bronze, 2, and 10-month-old daughter Golden Raye.
âHappy Thanksgivingđ¤,â she wrote via Instagram on Thursday before her husband competes in his first NFL game at AT&T Stadium.
While itâs too early to tell if Brittany and the kids will be in the audience for Patrickâs Thanksgiving game, some family members cheered on the Chiefs during their November 23 game.
âSideline chaosđ¤Łâ¤ď¸ ,â Brittany wrote via Instagram after the game.
