Matilda Djerfâs Viral Apology & Policy Changes Follow Djerf Avenueâs Workplace Drama
Matilda Djerf is the latest social media influencer to come under fire. The founder of clothing and beauty brand Djerf Avenue was in the hot seat this week after Swedish tabloid Astonbladet released a story on her apparent employee mistreatment and workplace culture, according to The New York Times. In response to the newsâalleging Djerf bullied staff, made fatphobic comments, and made staff clean her private toilet if one of them used it, from accounts by 11 anonymous past and present employeesâand mounting criticism on social media, Djerfâs released her own statement on the matter. In a post on Instagram, the influencer cited her new experience as a brand leader and apologized for any hurt caused, plus her intentions to âget it rightâ at her company. Moving forward, the brand will further review its ongoing staff feedback surveys and conduct an assessment from an external organizational psychologist. Eek!

Could Jonathan Anderson Be Diorâs Next Creative Director?
After 2024âs exhaustive creative director shuffle, we only have one last question: is Jonathan Anderson the next Dior creative director? I Deserve Coutureâs Hanan Besovic, who played conspiracy theorist with Andersonâs new sunset Instagram., certainly thinks so! In his own Reels post, Besovic compellingly dissected the photoâs caption, coloring, and lighting placement as connecting to Diorâs own spelling and products! Indeed, rumors have been swirling of the potential for Dior to hire a new creative lead in its menâs or womenâs divisions over the last two months after major exits like Kim Jones at Fendi, Pierpaolo Piccioli at Valentino, and Virginie Viard at Chanel. In any case, time will tell! Personally, weâd love to see Anderson at play at Fendiâwhich still needs an artistic director after Jones exited in October 2024! But not to fret: the Italian brandâs major 100th anniversary collections will be designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, kicking off 2025 with a stylish start.
