Watch GloRilla Perform Medley from ‘Glorious’ Album, ‘Yeah Glo!’
Memphis rapper debuts on SNL with the Grammy-nominated track from her 2024 mixtape
Memphis rapper GloRilla debuted as Saturday Night Live musical guest with a performance of “Yeah Glo!” and a medley of tracks from her first studio album, Glorious.
“Yeah Glo!,” from GloRilla’s April 2024 mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang, is a Grammy nominee for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, having received several other nominations at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards, BET Awards, and BET Hip Hop Awards as well. The song got onto the Billboard Hot 100, its popularity surely boosted by Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James being seen singing along.
GloRilla has said the track’s success took her by surprise.
“I was shocked,” she told the Associated Press last October. “I knew it was a good song. Every time I played it for people, they loved it. I didn’t know it would go as crazy as it did.”
Since the release of “Yeah Glo!”, GloRilla has been praised by Beyoncé, further enhancing her appeal.
Later in the show, GloRilla paired “Whatchu Kno About Me,” which she wrote with rapper Sexyy Red, with “Let Her Cook.”
The most nominated artist at next month’s NAACP Image Awards, Glorilla opened for “Wanna Be” co-writer Megan Thee Stallion last year during U.S. dates for her Hot Girl Summer tour. Around that time, her summer standout song was “TGIF,” also from Glorious.
GloRilla’s next scheduled show is Sunday in Detroit, followed by dates next month in California and Arizona, and then stops in Texas in March. She is also booked for Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee this June.
